The Kelsey Family Farm

In (b)RADIUS Bunch, RADIUS on January 19, 2015 at 2:01 pm

Everyone at RADIUS is a dedicated team member and works extremely hard to bring you the products that you expect from us, but we’re not just about toothbrushes. We also do some pretty cool things outside of RADIUS and Jennifer Stone, our International Sales Manager, has an awesome (in our humble opinion) story to tell…

My sister and her husband Chris are the owners/proprietors of Kelsey Family Farm, located in Brush Prairie, Washington.

They use all sustainable organic permaculture methods and non-GMO feed to grow and distribute eggs, pork, lamb, poultry, fleeces, wool yarn, and honey from their hives.

They raise rare heritage breeds on the farm including American Guinea Hogs, Icelandic and Shetland Sheep,

and free range turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

They also have about 175 free range chickens to produce eggs for the local natural food store, “New Season’s.”

My sister’s home in Brush Prairie, WA was built in the late 1800’s by one of the original settlers to the area and was farmed by a family of Finnish descent.

They left a permanent legacy of their culture in the purpose built sauna/sweat lodge still in use on the farm. The barn is an amazing structure listed on the Washington state registry of historic barns.

My daughter, a photographer, helps on the farm. In fact we’ve dubbed her the “chicken wrangler.”
